Vincotech, a supplier of power module solutions for power electronics, staged a charity benefit at this year’s PCIM Europe trade fair. The company and its partners pledged a donation for every visitor who competed in a virtual reality memory game, raising €10,000 for a Plan International Germany project in Malawi called “Education Empowers Girls!”
Held annually, PCIM Europe is the world’s leading exhibition and conference for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy, and energy management. Vincotech has made a tradition of hosting engaging charity events at the fair. Activities such as wall climbing, Sudoku, and this latest VR memory challenge – a crowd favorite – attracted hundreds of enthusiastic fairgoers.
This year’s proceeds go to a Plan International Germany’s project improve access to education and outcomes for girls in Malawi’s Lilongwe and Kasungu regions. Running from October 2022 to September 2026, the initiative goes to create inclusive, supportive learning environments where girls and boys can realize their potential.
“Girls around the world are far from doing well. The right to education or self-determination, a life in dignity: so many things that should actually be taken for granted exist too little or to no extent in many countries – and if they do exist, then significantly more so for boys than for girls. This is where our work comes in. And it has lasting effects because of the stable relationships we have through our projects in hundreds of communities across dozens of countries,” says Petra Berner, board chairwoman at Plan International Germany.
“Empowering girls through education changes lives – and not just individuals’. It transforms entire families and communities for generations to come,” says Vincotech VP Sales and Marketing Edoardo Guiotto. “We’re proud to back a project that breaks down barriers and helps girls build brighter futures.”
Vincotech wishes to thank everyone involved in this activity.
