VINCOTECH RELEASES VIDEO FEATURING PRESS-FIT CONNECTING TECHNOLOGY

Unterhaching/Germany, March 01, 2012 – Vincotech, a supplier of module-based solutions for power electronics, today announced the release of the latest video clip showcasing its ultra efficient connecting technology. This video clip shows the workings and benefits of Press-fit pins, a fast, reliable and cost-efficient way of installing the power module on the PCB.

Press-fit pins have long been a best-practice tool in the automotive industry. Vincotech’s version of this tool requires no soldering and provides a reliable and gas-tight connection to the PCB. The bottom-line benefits of solder-less assembly are many, to include faster production, lower costs and higher output.

Another advantage is that this technology allows the module to be removed without damaging the PCB, thereby enabling its reuse. Engineers also enjoy far greater design flexibility, as can be seen in the new Press-fit video. It shows how Press-fit pins are installed without soldering and how modules can easily be mounted on either side of the PCB at no extra cost or effort. Press-fit pins also handle very high current (30A @ 80°C) and provide thermo-mechanical push- and pull-force relief.

DIN- and IEC-compliant, Vincotech’s Press-fit technology is available in three versions covering the full range of Vincotech power modules:

• for 12 mm base plate-less housings
• for 17 mm base plate-less housings
• for 17 mm housings with base plate
