The A1091 product family expands the Vincotech offering of telematics hardware platforms, thus giving customers an additional option in choosing the telematics platform most appropriate to their application requirements.
While the A1074 is typically installed 'in cabinet' with the external antennas wired to the outside, the A1091 comes with integrated antennas and needs only a single cable for installation. In addition, designed to meet full industrial temperature range specification from -40 to +85°C, and with the IP67 standard waterproof enclosure, the A1091 has been built to withstand the harshest environments while ensuring optimal operating performance.
The A1091 is the first telematics unit utilizing the latest breakthrough GPS technology from SiRF implemented in the new SiRFstarIV.
Its high sensitivity, SiRFawareTM technology, jamming detection and removal and lowest power consumption provide an unprecedented level of performance in asset tracking.
The new A1091 hardware platform uses best-in-class communication technologies to meet performance expectations of the most discerning customers. The main microcontroller is a Cortex™-M3 32-bit RISC CPU (STMicroelectronics' STM32) which is optimized for embedded applications requiring lowest power consumption and equipped with sophisticated peripherals. In addition the A1091 provides sensors for movement and crash detection and can use a LiPolymer battery as backup power supply. The wide power input range is tuned for automotive applications.
The A1091 is also available with integrated WiFi capabilities. When available, this provides an alternative communication method that can be used to reduce GSM traffic and any associated costs there may be.
By providing integrated antennas and easy installation as well as a fully qualified & certified product the A1091 family members further decrease total cost of ownership.
This product is ideally suited for easy integration into existing client & server based back end office solutions.
Vincotech supports the application programming with a development kit EVA1091 (see other tab) and by providing support libraries and tools.
